To help reduce the spread of COVID-19, restrictions currently in place in Greater Sydney are now likely to remain in some form until November.
Following the spread of COVID-19 cases, yesterday’s health orders extended the same restrictions implemented in Greater Sydney to the Dubbo LGA, and later in the afternoon the same restrictions were extended to include the Far North Area. This covers Bogan, Bourke, Brewarrina, Coonamble, Gilgandra, Narromine, Walgett and Warren. In both cases the orders are due to run until the 19th of August.
Measures have changed for three more Sydney LGA’s. Bayside, Strathfield and Burwood LGA have now been identified as Areas of Concern and face greater restrictions, beginning this afternoon.
Following further cases, the lockdown in the Hunter and Upper Hunter that was due to end tomorrow will now be extended till the 19th of August.
Bicycle NSW is aware that there can be a lag between new rules being announced and an update to the NSW Health COVID Rules. With daily changes, and increased enforcement measures, we’re doing our best to support riders across the state.
“We are now seeing the extension of these measures into communities that haven’t previously faced many restrictions,” said Bicycle NSW General Manager of Public Affairs, Bastien Wallace.
“If you know anyone who is confused by the health orders, we encourage you to share our article and resources,” said Bastien.
